Disney Wildlife Film Fires Up Web Promos

April 4, 2011-Walt Disney Studios  serves up lots of web links in a press release for  African Cats, its documentary set for April 22 theatrical release. A portion of box office will be donated to the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF), which is a springboard for promotions.
There’s the obligatory Facebook page, a website to “pledge” to see the movie, another ticket commerce page that says it will double Disney’s donation to AWF when bringing a friend, website to support wildlife preservation and a link to a section of the Disney website that is a de facto website for the film. All this is under the umbrella of a social media campaign dubbed “See ‘African Cats,’ Save the Savanna.”
The film is from the studio’s Disneynature unit.
