'Star Wars' Flies With United Airlines

 Oct. 30, 2019-United Airlines embraces a Star Wars promotion offering tickets to the movie’s premiere and also special screenings, and painting one of its airplanes in the movie’s motif. Walt Disney will premiere Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on Dec. 20
   “In accordance with the theme, the outside of the navy-blue aircraft carries images — from nose to tail fin — of TIE fighters
 
The airline teased the paint scheme last spring on its social media channels

and X-wing fighters, while glowing lightsabers adorn either side of the tail,” says a New York Post story by Ben Cost.
   Star Wars music will play on public address system when the plane loads passengers, the instructional safety video for passengers is loaded with Star War elements and fans at home can track the single United airplane through the Flight Aware system following the aircraft coded N36272. The decorated airplane is a Boeing 737-800.
   A United press release adds the airline offers access to special screenings of the movie, special travel to Jordan for a tour of movie location filming and give memorabilia to passengers. “The airline will provide once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for MileagePlus members – including access to attend the US premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – through MileagePlus Exclusive, the airline's platform that lets MileagePlus members use miles to bid and buy exclusive items and experiences,” says a United press release. MileagePlus is its frequent flyer awards program.
