Big Red beverages ramps up film promos

   May 12, 2015—Beverage marketer Big Red is revving up movie tie-ins by helping to promote Terminator Genisys and movie comedy Spy.
   These are the third and fourth movie promotions for the Austin, TX-based Big Red, which is the nation’s sixth largest beverage

company and whose eponymous red soda drink dates back to 1937.
   For the not-yet-rated Terminator Genisys, which Paramount Pictures will premiere July 1, Big Red will promote awareness in beverage retail channels and social media.
   “Beginning May 18, Terminator Genisys fans looking for a 'Deliciously Different' taste can take home limited-edition Big Red and Big Red Zero products that feature the movie's main characters, including Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and the T-800 and T-1000 Terminators,” says a press release. “Additionally, select markets will also be introduced to Big Red Vintage Reset, a Terminator Genisys-inspired version of Retro Big Red, which is made with pure cane sugar. The limited-time Big Red Vintage Reset will come exclusively in a16-ounce aluminum can, a first-time offering for any Big Red flavor within the brand's 78-year history.”
   There’s a contest awarding a behind-the-scenes tour of  the Paramount studio lot and meeting the movie’s production team. The contest is accessed through messaging app Dubsmash that hosts Big Red #Dubinator beginning June 6 at
   For the R-rated Spy, the 20th Century Fox comedy stars Melissa McCarthy. Big Red is connecting the promotion to its Hydrive energy water. There’s an Ultimate Spy Mission Sweepstake and social media collaboration that includes digital video series The Untrained Spy. The Hydrive web page promoting Spy has the movie's stars in character, a entry form for the contest and the film's trailer.
  Big Red is warming to Hollywood with two movie promotions in one year. Its two other movie tie-ins were were A Good Day to Die Hard in 2013 with Fox and Transformers: Age of Extinction in 2014 with Paramount.
