This website is devoted to understanding the complex and critical release window of theatrical distribution, which is illuminated in the book Marketing to Moviegoers. It's critical because values for movies in windows ranging from video-on-demand to DVD to TV are established by cinema runs.
The third edition of the business/academic book Marketing to Moviegoers is authored by Robert Marich, who has three decades expertise in reporting on and analyzing the movie business.
The “News and Features” archive at the center of the homepage contains analysis and links to over 800 topical topical stories about theatrical distribution. Those posted stories are searchable via searchbox at upper right web pages. An "Instructors’ Guide" is available through the publisher SIU Press to teachers (see button at left of homepage) that SIU Press verifies are using Marketing to Moviegoers.
The third edition of Marketing to Moviegoers is designated ISBN # 978-0-8093-3196-3 for paperback, and ISBN # 978-0-8093-3197-0 for eBook version.
An earlier edition was translated into the Japanese language by a Japanese movie promotion agency.
